Therapy for work and school

For adults in a job, a degree or a job search who find the structure hard to hold.

Many people Lumen sees are students at the universities nearby, people in tech and health care, or people between jobs. We work on the parts of the day that cost you most: getting started, switching tasks, meetings, email, and asking for what you need.

What we work on

  • Starting and finishing

  • Meetings and email

  • Asking for adjustments

  • Deadlines and planning

  • Rest after a hard week

The method

Practice, then the real thing

We rehearse the hard part in the room, then you try it on a small scale.

  • Plan the week with you

Look at what is due, what is movable and where the hard hours fall.

  • Rehearse the conversation

Practice what to say to a manager, an instructor or a teammate, out loud if that helps.

  • Review what happened

Look at last week without blame, and keep what worked.

What this is not

What this does not do

  • It is not an evaluation

Lumen does not write evaluations or diagnose ADHD. An adjustment at work or school usually needs one, and Andre can give you names.

  • It is not career coaching

We talk about how you work, not which job you should take.

  • It is not a promise about your job or grades

Andre cannot say how your workplace or school will respond.

Pace and fees

How long, how often, how it is paid

  • How often, and for how long

Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start weekly or every other week. Andre sets the pace with you, and there is no set number of sessions.

  • How it is paid

You pay for each session yourself, and your fee is given in writing before you start.

    How fees work

Three questions for this page

Can you write a letter for my school or employer?

Andre can confirm that you attend sessions if you ask him to. He does not do evaluations, and an adjustment usually needs one, so he can give you names of people who do.

Do you see students?

Yes, if you are 18 or older. Lumen is out of network with insurance plans, so you pay for each session yourself. The fees page explains how.

Can I join from my car or my office?

By video from anywhere private in Utah. You need to be in Utah during the session, because that is where Andre is licensed.
