How fees work
What most people ask before a first session, answered in order.
Insurance we work with
Lumen is out of network with insurance plans, so you pay for each session yourself. Lumen does not take Medicare or Medicaid. If you would rather see someone who bills your plan, Andre will give you the names of colleagues who do.

If you pay yourself
The fee depends on the length of the session, and sessions are 50 minutes. Your fee is given in writing before you start, and it changes only if you agree to the change in writing. A limited number of reduced-fee spots may be open: ask by message. HSA and FSA cards work like any other card. If you need to move an appointment, please tell us 24 hours ahead; a text is enough.
Receipts for reimbursement
At the end of each month Andre can email an itemized receipt, called a superbill, that you send to your plan to ask for reimbursement. It lists a diagnosis code that your insurer can see. Your plan decides what it pays, and reimbursement is not guaranteed, so ask your plan before you start.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a good faith estimate in writing of what your care will cost before it starts. Lumen sends yours before the first session. If a bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Lumen does not bill your plan, so there is no benefits check on our side. To learn whether your plan reimburses out-of-network therapy, ask it in writing before the first session; most plans answer in a member portal or a secure message.
Would you like the estimate in writing?
Ask for it before the first session. We email it, with no obligation to book.
