Therapy for adults with ADHD
For adults who have ADHD, or think they might, and want sessions built around how they actually live.
Sessions are 50 minutes, in the Provo office or by video. We start from the agenda, work on one thing, and end with a small step written down. If you lose the thread, we say so and pick it up again.
What we work on
Starting and finishing tasks
Time and routines
Feelings that arrive fast
Relationships and talking things through
Self-criticism

The method
Skills, in small steps
The methods are plain, and each one is explained before we use it.
Cognitive behavioral methods
Break a task into steps, set a cue you will see, then check what happened without blame.
Acceptance-based methods
Make room for a bad day without letting it decide the next one.
Written between sessions
An agenda before, a short summary after, both by text or email.
What this is not
What therapy here does not do
It is not an ADHD evaluation
Lumen does not test for or diagnose ADHD. Andre can give you names of people who do.
It is not medication
Andre does not prescribe. With your permission he works alongside your prescriber.
It is not a promise of results
ADHD does not go away, and Andre cannot say what will change for you. The work goes at your pace.
Pace and fees
How long, how often, how it is paid
How often, and for how long
Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start weekly or every other week. Andre sets the pace with you, and there is no set number of sessions.
How it is paid
You pay for each session yourself, and your fee is given in writing before you start.
How fees work
Three questions for this page
Can I come without a diagnosis?
Yes. Many people start while they are waiting for an evaluation, or deciding whether to get one. You do not need a diagnosis to begin.
Will there be a lot of forms?
Intake forms are on the practice's own portal, never on this site, and you can do them in pieces. If you would rather go through them with Andre in the first session, say so.
What if I forget an appointment?
We can text a reminder the day before. If you miss one, write to us and we find another time. Please give 24 hours' notice to move an appointment; a text is enough.
Would you like to talk first?
A 15-minute fit call is a short call about fit. It is not therapy, an evaluation or an assessment.
